Originally an 81-acre pig farm, the J.A. McFaul Environmental Center was gradually converted into a park beginning in the 1960s. It now features a waterfowl pond, animal shelters, covered picnic areas, a two-story wildlife observation deck, a library, a variety of nature exhibits, and more. It’s a great place to spend a day learning and exploring, and they also host great programs and events, such as free movie nights in their outdoor auditorium on Tuesdays and offer fun opportunities to get out in nature. Zabriskie Pond Park is a 6-acre expanse of woods, grassy knolls, and a pond that’s great for fishing. The park even hosts the annual Wyckoff Environmental Commission fishing derby. When you want to go on a picturesque walk, visit the Russell Farms Community Park, where a trail passes through towering trees, a gazebo, and an arboretum that offers educational opportunities.

Abma’s Farm is a great spot to find flowers and plants for your home, but it’s also popular for its delicious seasonal produce and its fun, family-friendly atmosphere. With lush greenhouses, planting and gardening workshops, and a barnyard petting zoo, there’s tons for kids and parents to explore on a sunny afternoon. The area offers many events to keep the community spirit alive, with one of the most popular being the Wyckoff Memorial Day Parade.
